Police charge man with attempted murder after shooting in Ballarat

A 25-year-old was shot on Monday in Ballarat and is in a serious condition.

Police have arrested and charged a man with attempted murder following a shooting in Ballarat.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital on Monday with serious injuries following the shooting in the Ballarat suburb of Wendouree, west of Melbourne.

He is understood to be in a serious but stable condition with upper body and facial injuries.

A Ballarat man was arrested in Melton on Monday night and charged with attempted murder, intentionally cause serious injury, being a prohibited person possessing a firearm and reckless conduct endangering life.

Police and emergency services were called to an address on Clover Street shortly before 3:00pm yesterday.

The shooting took place in the front yard of the property, police said.
