Police catch uninsured driver on 600 mile round trip from Birmingham to Glasgow for Dior bag

Police intercepted an uninsured driver taking a 600 mile round trip from Birmingham to Glasgow for a Dior bag, flaunting the coronavirus lockdown rules.

Cumbria Roads Police took to Twitter to inform the public the Audi driver was reported for making the non-essential trip, driving while uninsured and travelling at speeds of 100mph.

Officers also said the driver had an unwell passenger in the car with them, encouraging them to drive faster to get home.

Cumbria Roads Police Tweeted: "What is NOT essential travel? Well possibly Birmingham to Glasgow to collect a Dior bag.

"Especially when your passenger’s unwell and urges you to get home faster. But at 100mph? And of course you should also be insured.

"Driver reported for all three. Taxi to Birmingham please!"
