Police catch pigeon at East Midlands Airport after 'extensive' chase

Police were called to chase after a pigeon which had got loose at East Midlands Airport.

It was East Midlands Airport Police's first job of Wednesday, September 1, as they managed to 'corner' and catch the bird at the airport.

The force then contacted the owner, from Middlesbrough, and arranged for the pigeon to be collected.

East Midlands Airport Police said in a tweet: "Never a dull moment at East Midlands Airport.

"First job was to catch that pigeon! After an extensive foot chase through the terminal he was cornered and had nowhere to go.

"He then gave up without too much resistance. Owner from Middlesbrough contacted and arranging collection."

The force added: "We bet you didn't see that coming in yesterday's feather forecast!"
