Police catch elusive Leeds burglary suspect after searching for months

West Yorkshire Police have arrested an elusive Leeds burglary suspect after a manhunt which lasted several months.

Officers from the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit arrested Jamie Commons on Sunday, March 1 after stopping a car in Hunslet.

They had been searching for the 40-year-old for months and issued several wanted persons appeals and two photographs.

Police say Commons, of Autumn Place in Hyde Park, has been charged with eight shop theft offences and a burglary offence.

Commons appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Monday, March 2 and he has been remanded in custody until his next court hearing.
