Police catch driver travelling at high speed under influence of drugs while responding to collision involving another drug driver

A suspected drug driver was caught while police were responding to another incident involving drug driving.

Officers in Bolton were responding to a road traffic collision involving a driver under the influence of drugs when they spotted another vehicle travelling at high speeds.

The second vehicle was stopped by police and the driver was also found to be under the influence of drugs.

Officers posted brief details of the incident on the GMP Bolton North Facebook page on Monday morning (June 7).

They said that both people are currently in custody for drug driving.

“Officers from #DRelief Response and the Roads Policing Unit have been dealing with an RTC, where the driver was under the influence of drugs,” the post wrote.

“Whilst awaiting recovery, a vehicle has been seen travelling at high speed and was stopped.
