Police catch driver clocked travelling down M62 at 120mph

Motorway police have issued a traffic offence report to a motorist clocked driving at 120 miles per hour on the M62 on Sunday morning (August 22).

Police officers recorded the speed which was 50mph over the national speed limit of 70 and duly caught up with the driver.

Merseyside and Cheshire Road Police worked together to stop the driver of the black Mercedes (pictured) who could face a fine and possible ban.

North West Motorway Police tweeted at 5.31am: "Sighted by our TX29 @MerPoliceTraffic M62 doing 120mph.

"This Driver was stopped with the assistance of @CheshireRCU and given a Traffic offence report for excess speed. #Fatal4."
