Police catch driver carrying five skips stacked on top of each other in Salford

Police in Salford stopped a driver who had piled five skips on the back of a lorry.

Officers pulled over the unfortunate worker on Trafford Road today (Tuesday) after spotting a large tower of orange metal boxes being carried through the city.

The limit for the number of skips that can be carried on the back of a vehicle is 2, police say.

In a post on Twitter, an officer from GMP's Salford team published pictures of the overloaded lorry after it had been stopped.

They wrote: "Vehicle stopped on Trafford Road, Salford today.

"Driver skipped making an extra two journeys and carried five skips, limit is two.

"Vehicle issued prohibition notice in order for the load to be removed and driver has been reported."
