Police catch 4x4s 'having a rally around a country park' after one of them got stuck

Police have seized two 4X4 vehicles after catching them 'having a rally' around a country park.

Neighbourhood teams in Abram and Leigh towed away the vehicles after discovering them having what they described as a 'rally' in Bickershaw Country Park in Wigan.

It came to a halt however, after one of the vehicles got stuck on a mound of earth.

Officers say the vehicles had travelled to the park from outside the area and were putting families at risk.

Sharing news of the incident on their social media pages, GMP Leigh, Atherton & Hindley wrote: "Our tow truck had no issues removing them under Section 59.

"Yet again these are vehicles who have travelled from outside of Greater Manchester to ruin your Green Spaces and put families using the park to social distance exercise at risk."
