Police cars windows smashed outside Bettws station

Two police cars have had their windows smashed following a night time attack outside a police station.

The rear windscreens of both cars were smashed outside of Bettws Police Station, just off Lambourne Way.

Gwent Police is appealing for information about the incident, thought to have happened between late on March 17 and 9.30am on March 18.

Inspector Jitka Tomkova-Griffiths said: “This damage now means two of our police cars that we use daily to serve our communities are off the road.

“It’s really disappointing to see such a mindless act of vandalism.”

Gwent Police is currently appealing for anyone with information to get in contact with them.

Inspector Tomkova-Griffiths added: “We are now in the process of making enquiries to trace the offenders and are reviewing CCTV in the area.”

Anyone with information can contact Gwent Police by calling 101 and quoting reference number 2000095805 or sending a direct message to their Facebook or Twitter account.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
