Police carry out 'forensic search' of home and woman assisting officers in missing man investigation

Police in Swansea are searching an area of the city for a man who has been missing for more than a month.

South Wales Police has said “concern is growing” for Paul Thomas from Gowerton, who was reported missing almost five weeks ago on Thursday, July 8. Mr Thomas, aged 58, is now the subject of a forensic search at a property in Townhill and the surrounding areas.

Officers have said they are keeping “an open mind” with regards to what has happened to Mr Thomas and have thanked the public for their understanding as searches continue.

Detective inspector Gareth Jones, from Swansea CID, said: “Extensive inquiries into Paul’s disappearance have been ongoing since he was reported missing over a month ago.

“Paul has links to the Townhill area and a forensic search is being carried out in Gomer Road to help find any clues as to where he might be. This remains a missing person inquiry and we are keeping an open mind into what has happened between now and when Paul was last seen.

“One woman is helping us with our enquiries and we would appeal for anyone else with information to please come forward. We would like to thank to Gomer Road community for their cooperation and understanding while searches are carried out.”

Police continue to appeal for information and are asking anyone who may know about Mr Thomas’ whereabouts to contact them either online, by e-mailing SWP101@south-wales.police.uk, by calling 101, or via the South Wales Police social media accounts, quoting reference number 2100239045.
