Police carry out drugs raid at house in Bolton - a man is in custody

A man has been arrested following a drugs raid in Great Lever.

Police executed a drugs warrant at a house in Green Lane, in the early hours of this morning (May 7).

Several police vehicles attended.

One officer was seen with a battering ram, while another was seen carrying brown bags back to a police car.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis.

Officers seized a quantity of plants and suspected Class B drugs.

Sgt Peter Crowe said: "Officers executed a warrant at an address in Green Lane.

"A man is currently in police custody.

"It is an investigation into drugs offences."

Police confirmed that the incident was completely unrelated to the crash in the same road last night, which killed father-of-four Tariq Khan.
