A police car was rammed off the road during a high speed chase through Swansea involving suspected drug dealers and a stolen car.
South Wales Police responded to reports that a blue Mercedes, which later turned out to be stolen, was being used for a drug deal in Swansea city centre.
A suspect fled from police in the car, which had been stolen from a property in Gowerton.
The resulting chase ended on Merlin Crescent, Townhill.
A police vehicle was rammed and damaged during the pursuit before the car was abandoned at around 4:30pm, with the suspect making an escape on foot in the direction of Rosehill Quarry Community Park.
This is the second time this month a police car has been rammed by a stolen car in Swansea.
"We ran out to sirens outside our house, there were six police cars in total, one car was blocking in the stolen navy Blue Mercedes.
"It (the Mercedes) was abandoned directly outside my house behind my car, luckily my car wasn't hit," said an eyewitness, who lives on Merlin Crescent but didn't want to be named.
South Wales Police officers were pictured blocking a path opposite where the car had been abandoned, it is thought the suspect may have used the route to try and escape.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: "Police in Swansea responded to reports of a possible drugs deal taking place from a car in central Swansea.
"A short while later officers located the vehicle which collided with a police car before later being abandoned.
"The car was later confirmed to be a stolen car from a property in Gowerton.
"After a short search, supported by the police helicopter, a 30 year old man from the Townhill area was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
"He has been taken to Swansea central police station where he remains."
