Police car rammed in West Lothian

Police are appealing for information after a vehicle reversed into a police car in West Lothian today.

A white tipper truck was signalled to stop in Armadale just before midday but the driver did not stop and reversed the vehicle into the police car before fleeing.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers in West Lothian signalled for a vehicle to stop on Station Road in Armadale at around 11.45am on Tuesday, December 10. The driver failed to stop and subsequently reversed the vehicle into a police car before leaving the scene.

“Inquiries are ongoing and nobody was injured as a result. Anyone who witnessed the collision or the vehicle and has dash-cam or CCTV footage is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 1324 of 10 December.

“The vehicle is described as a white Transit tipper with a beacon and two spotlights either side of the cab. In addition there is livery on the rear of the vehicle with the wording ‘Highway Maintenance’.”
