Police car involved in Kilmarnock town centre crash while heading to emergency

A police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle in Kilmarnock while on the way to an emergency today.

We reported earlier that the accident happened at around 10.30am at the junction where North Hamilton Street meets Portland Road.

Both vehicles were damaged as officers attended the scene along with a recovery truck.

Traffic flow was interrupted as the incident was dealt with.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle on North Hamilton Street, Kilmarnock around 10.25am this morning.

“Nobody was seriously injured in the incident.”
