Police car involved in collision with vehicle while responding to 999 call in St Paul's

A police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle this afternoon (Tuesday) while officers were responding to an emergency call.

No one was hurt during the collision on St Paul Street, at around 4pm (September 29).

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said: “Shortly after 4pm a marked police car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Newfoundland Road, Bristol.

“Officers were responding to a 999 call and had their lights and sirens on at the time.

“An ambulance was called following the collision but thankfully neither the officers or the occupant of the other car were injured.

“Both vehicles were damaged and recovery of them is currently being arranged.”

A video of the smash scene was posted on Twitter.

One person replied: "I thought something was up as I saw loads of police cars tearing down the M32 into town."
