Police car involved in Aikenhead Road crash as man and woman rushed to hospital

A man and a woman have been rushed to hospital following a crash on Aikenhead Road, involving a police car.

The south side road was closed for a number of hours at the junction of Prospecthill Road following the collision, which took place shortly after 11am this morning.

Police confirmed a 32-year-old man and 32-year-old woman are being treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Glasgow City Council advised the road had re-opened at 2.10pm and police say officers are helping with traffic following the earlier incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Around 11.15am on Sunday, 14 February, 2021, we received a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a police car on Aikenhead Road, Glasgow.

"A 32-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man have been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

"Officers are assisting with traffic management in the area."
