Police car in horror smash as firefighters cut off roof and one taken to hospital

A police officer is believed to have been rushed to hospital after their car was involved in a horrific crash.

The police car collided with a council care services vehicle in Springboig, Glasgow.

Firefighters cut the roof off the police car before scrambling the wounded officer free, Daily Record says.

Further details, including their condition and gender, is not yet known at this stage.

The council services vehicle was also badly damaged in the smash.

Police Scotland expect to be at the scene into the night.
