Police car flips and overturns in horror multi-car smash in Glasgow

A police car has overturned in Castlemilk in a horror smash.

Emergency crews have raced to the scene this evening at Carmunnock Road, near the Cherry Tree nursery at 5.40pm.

Images show both cars badly damaged with the cop car on its roof and the front end smashed in.

Two fire engines and four ambulances are currently at the scene.

It is unknown if there are any serious injuries at this time.

The incident involved two vehicles and the area has now been taped off with diversions in place.

A Police spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Record: "Officers are in attendance after a crash involving a police car and another car at Carmunnock Road, Glasgow which happened at 5.40pm.

"Diversions are currently in place."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.47pm on Tuesday, October 27 to an incident involving two vehicles on Lainshaw Drive, Castlemilk, Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene to respond alongside emergency service partners.”
