Police called to 'sudden death' near Maid Marian Way car park

A cordon was placed near a car park exit in the city centre after officers responded to reports of "a sudden death", police have confirmed.

The car park exit at Maid Marian Way, near to the Broadmarsh Centre was seen taped off on Wednesday afternoon around 1pm (September 2).

It was set up heading outbound on the busy road just before Collin Street.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police have now confirmed they were called just before 3am on Wednesday morning to a report of a sudden death in Stanford Street.

A spokeswoman added: "A scene remained in place while officers gathered the necessary evidence and a file will be passed to the Coroner."

A crime scene investigation unit van and a forensics officer were pictured in front of a cordon which was stopping vehicles turning onto the road from the car park.

Traffic was still able to drive in both directions on Maid Marian Way.
