Police called to reports of gunman at North Manchester General Hospital

Police raced to a hospital after reports of a man with a gun on New Year's Eve.

Officers were called to North Manchester General Hospital on Friday afternoon, after receiving information that a man had been seen with a 'potential firearm'.

When police arrived they could not find the man.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing, GMP said.

A spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly before 3pm on Friday 31 December 2021 to reports of a male with a potential firearm at North Manchester General Hospital, Delaunays Road, Manchester.

"Officers attended; however, the male had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made."
