Police called to reports of a 'rave' at St Andrew's Park in Bristol

Police were called to reports of a rave at a park in Bristol last night (May 30).

Avon and Somerset Police was called to St Andrew's Park at around 8.50pm by a member of the public who raised concerns a rave was taking place in the park in St Andrew's.

However, on attendance, officers found that - while the park was very busy - people appeared to be gathering in small groups and no loud music was being played.

The force said in a statement that officers returned to the park at around midnight following two further calls from people complaining about noise and, while a few small groups of people remained, no offences were identified.

Last Summer, a sleep-deprived doctor said she had started sleeping in her daughter's bedroom to escape the incessant noise of partying in St Andrew's Park.

The GP, who asked not to be named, said large groups of "up to 40" people had been gathering in St Andrews Park every night and blaring out music until the early hours of the morning.

At the time, the doctor living just a few metres from the park told Bristol Live : "It's like a rave in the park and it's affecting the neighbours."
