Police called to report of 'possible human bones' found in Mossley

Police have set up a scene in Mossley after the discovery of what they describe as 'possible human bones'.

Police were called shortly before 10.05am on Saturday to an area off Calf Lane in Mossley.

A scene remains in place whilst enquiries are carried out to ascertain the circumstances.

The site is near to Saddleworth Cricket Club and Saddleworth Moor, on the border between Mossley and Greenfield.

No further details have been confirmed tonight by Greater Manchester Police.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 999 of 17/10/2020, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
