Police called to park in Stockport after reports of 'youths with baseball bats'

Police were called to a park in Stockport after receiving reports of youths brandishing baseball bats.

Officers were called to Alexandra Park in Edgeley on Sunday evening, after a group of boys were seen carrying the bats. 

Police attended immediately and have since confirmed that a boy was detained at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called shortly after 5pm to Dale Street, Edgeley, to reports of a group of youths with what appeared to be baseball bats.

"Officers attended and one boy was detained".
