Police called to Nottinghamshire bridge over reports of 'woman entering the water'

Emergency services were called to a bridge this afternoon over reports of a woman in the water.

Nottinghamshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Gunthorpe Bridge, where a woman was treated at the scene.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Nottinghamshire Police were called to Gunthorpe Bridge at around 12.45pm today following a report of a woman entering the water.

"She was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Queen's Medical Centre for further treatment.

"Officers worked closely with the local fire service and emergency services."

An East Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 12.48pm on October 12 to Lowdham Road in Gunthorpe.

"The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent two community first responders, two paramedics in fast response cars, the Hazardous Area Response Team and a crewed ambulance. One patient was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre via crewed ambulance.”
