Officers from Police Scotland have travelled to the home where killer Aaron Campbell lived at the time when he took the life of Alesha MacPhail.

Police were called on Monday to morning to the home on Ardbeg Road in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute.

Campbell is understood to have lived at the site with his mother, Janette when he murdered the schoolgirl on July 2, 2018.

The schoolgirl was raped and murdered by 16-year-old Campbell.

It is not yet known if Janette or other members of Campbell’s family still stay at the residence, according to the Daily Record.

Police say that they received reports “of concern for a person” at the property at around 10am on Monday 24.

One person was taken to hospital for treatment.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not confirmed by police.

Officers did not disclose the person's age, gender or current medical condition.

The hospital they were taken to was also not revealed.

Campbell, now 19, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 27 years however that term was later cut to 24 years on appeal.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Record “We received a report of concern for a person at a property on Ardbeg Road in Rothesay around 9am on Monday, January 24, 2022.

“Emergency services attended and the person was taken to hospital for treatment.”
