Police called to derelict building on Canning Circus after reports of break-in

Police were called to a derelict building on Canning Circus after reports that a man was trying to break in on Thursday morning (May 30).

Nottinghamshire Police were called at 8.50am to the former restaurant.

There was a report of a man breaking into the empty unit which is located at the junction of Derby Road and Wollaton Street.

A police van was seen at the junction while officers investigate the incident.

No traffic is affected by the incident.

The derelict building used to be the Ben Bowers restaurant, which opened in 1973.

Ben Bowers closed and later turned into 1877, a bar, but the property fell into decline and has been derelict for around five years.
