Police have been forced to remind people to stay at home after drivers parked up under a motorway bridge to visit Sale Water Park.
Transport for Greater Manchester shut the park and ride car park on the site of Sale Water Park, in Trafford, last week to encourage members of the public to stay at home.
The government has introduced measures allowing people to only leave home to purchase essentials, one form of daily exercise, a medical reason and to travel for essential work.
TfGM have also advised people to only travel if absolutely essential and to not drive away from home to take exercise.
A statement on the TFGM website said: "We have closed Sale Water Park Park & Ride on the advice of Greater Manchester Police.
"Sale Water Park Metrolink stop remains open.
"While Sale Water Park is open to local residents, the access road and main car park have been closed in partnership with GMP to discourage people visiting by car from further away."
However, over the weekend a number of drivers travelled to the park and left their vehicles parked under a nearby M60 motorway bridge, on the slip road for junction eight.
A statement on the Greater Manchester Police Trafford South Facebook page said: "Following reports from members of the public yesterday, our officers attended Sale Water Park.
"Officers engaged with numerous persons parking under the motorway bridge to remind them of the Government advice."
