Police called to Clyde amid 'concern over something seen in river'

Emergency services were earlier called out to the River Clyde amid 'concern over something seen in the river', police have confirmed.

Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were all spotted at Clyde Street at Glasgow city centre earlier this afternoon.

However the incident is now said to have been a 'false alarm'.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "It's been stood now. It's a false alarm.

"[We received] a call about potential concern about something seen in the river, but nothing of any note has been found."

Pictures of the scene showed police, fire and ambulance crews lined up on Clyde Street, by the River Clyde.
