Police called as '70 cars' gather for meet at Nottingham tram stop car park

Police were called to the a large car meet where around 70 vehicles had gathered at a Nottingham tram stop.

Petrolheads gathered at the Phoenix Park tram stop at around 9pm on Sunday, August 2. The site is just off the A610 in Cinderhill.

Nottinghamshire Police told Nottinghamshire Live in a statement that the group had "dispersed" by the time police arrived but it said it is taking the issue "seriously".

No arrests were made.

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Simon Riley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Nottinghamshire Police was called to a report of a gathering of around 70 cars in Phoenix Park tram stop car park at around 9.10pm on Sunday August 2.

“The group had dispersed prior to police arrival. However, this is something that we take seriously and we will respond to any reports in the future.

“Anyone who has any concerns in their local area should speak to one of our officers out on patrol or call 101. In an emergency, dial 999.”
