Police called after woman's body found in house

A woman was found dead at her home in Formby early this morning after concerns were raised.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Freshfield Road at around 12.40am today.

Police confirmed that when crews arrived at the house they found the body of a woman in her 70s.

Merseyside Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman's death.

A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that emergency services are in attendance in Formby after the non-suspicious death of a woman today, Monday 17 June.

"At around 12.40am, a woman in her 70s was found deceased at an address in Freshfield Road, after a call reporting a concern for her safety. 



"Her next of kin have been made aware.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Freshfield Road is one of the most exclusive areas of Formby, with house prices averaging more than £500,000.
