Police called after driver spotted going in the wrong direction on the A1 near Edinburgh

Police were called today after a driver was reportedly seen going the wrong way on the southbound A1, near Dunbar in East Lothian.

An Edinburgh Live reader got in touch to say he'd been held up by police at around 9.45am while travelling on the A1 and that 'interceptor' cars had raced past him.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A report was received relating to a vehicle seen travelling in the wrong direction on the southbound lane of the A1 near Dunbar shortly after 9.45am on Saturday, 3 October.

"Officers attended and no vehicles were identified and no further reports were made to police."
