The sudden death of a baby in Wirral over the weekend is being treated as unexplained.
Emergency services were called to an address in Prenton on Sunday morning.
A police spokesperson said: "At 8.50am a call was received of an unresponsive baby at an address in Farmfield Drive.
"The baby was taken to hospital and sadly pronounced deceased.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained."
People took to social media yesterday to report a police presence at the scene, including forensics officers.
Two Scentific Support vehicles were outside the address, which is on the Beechwood estate.
