Police busted '£100k crack cocaine factory' in Bristol flat

Police who busted into a flat in Bristol found a "crack cocaine factory".

Mohamed Diallo was reluctant to open the door when officers arrived at the first floor premises in Latimer Close, Brislington.

Bristol Crown Court heard despite his efforts to prevent entry they got in and used a stun device on him as he tried to discard evidence.

Diallo, 30, whose address was given as Greenways in Kingswood, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and production of crack cocaine on January 21.

He also admitted possessing criminal property.

Judge Martin Picton jailed him for six years.

He told Diallo: "You were involved in what was clearly a substantial drug operation.

"There was one kilo of cocaine and you had the capacity to generate £100,000."

The police investigation was led by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit.

Ian Fenny, prosecuting via video link due to coronavirus lockdown, said Diallo was the sole occupant of the flat when police called.

He said when police entered they restrained Diallo and found a siginificant quantity of cocaine on a window ledge, as well as cash in a carrier bag and handbag.

Mr Fenny told the court: "The kitchen was a crack cocaine factory.

"There was a significant quantity of cocaine [and equipment] consistent with turning cocaine into crack cocaine.

"There was also a Rolex watch and mobile phones."

Mr Fenny said the potential street value of the kilo of cocaine was just short of £100,000.

Cash totalling £11,095 was also seized.

Diallo's proceeds of crime will be confiscated.

Kannan Siva, defending, said his client had a drug-related offence dating back ten years.

But he said since then Diallo had been working and urged the judge to make the sentence as short as possible.

Mr Siva said: "He made a terrible error of judgement."
