Police break up party of 50 people on Wickham Glen after 'loud music' reports

Police broke up a party of around 50 people yesterday (Saturday, February 26) following reports of loud noise coming from a Bristol woodland.

Avon and Somerset Police received calls of loud music playing at Wickham Glen in Stapleton at 3.45pm yesterday, and arrived to find 50 people gathered around a sound system.

Officers issued the organiser of the party with a notice to leave and prevented further access to the site.

They said in a statement: "Police received calls reporting loud music from Wickham Glen in Stapleton came in at 3.45pm on Saturday 26 February.

"Officers attended and found around 50 people present with music being played from a sound system.

"The organiser was issued with a notice to leave and officers prevented further access to the site.

"The music was turned off by 5.15pm and everyone had left by 6pm and there were no further calls."
