Police break up house party in Stockport which had a disco ball, strobe lighting and music so loud that 'it could be heard streets away'

Police have fined the attendees of a birthday party which had a disco ball, strobe lighting and loud music.

Officers in Stockport said they were alerted to the illegal gathering on Wednesday evening.

"If you are going to sneakily have a 20th Birthday house party, then having a massive disco ball strobe lighting and playing music that can be heard streets away is not the best idea of being discreet" GMP's Stockport division said on its social media pages.

"Officers attended and broke up the birthday bash, all six in attendance, including the home owner, issued with Covid fines" they said.

"All present were removed from the address and sent back to their home addresses."

No further details have been revealed.

Under current lockdown laws no one is allowed to leave their home except for certain circumstances in law.

And it is against the law to meet socially with family or friends unless they are part of your household or support bubble.

Fixed penalty notices (FPNs) can be issued for breaches.
