An adult football match was put to a stop by Police Community Support Officers who warned the group they would be fined for breaking coronavirus measures.
The group of men were kicking the ball around in Hull, near a primary school, on Sunday.
Officers wearing body cameras approached the group to remind them of the social distancing measures that are preventing people from different households from meeting in order to curb the spread of the virus, Hull Live reports.
They said they had warned them that they would be fined using the new powers afforded to police to enforce the lockdown under the new coronavirus law if they returned.
On Twitter, a spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "Yesterday local PCSOs attended this group on Thoresby Street and as per the guidelines educated and encouraged this group of adults and issued warnings on body camera should they return they will be issued fixed penalty notices under the Covid-19 Act."
Recent guidance shared by police chiefs clarified some of the rules around the lockdown.
While the rules remain the same, that people should only leave the house to make essential journeys or to have one form of exercise per day, police recently said people could drive somewhere to do their exercise only if a lot more time was spent exercising than driving.
Sports authorities had said no grassroots sports should be taking place even before the lockdown began as large-scale sporting gatherings began getting cancelled in March.
