Police believe the body of missing girl Amy Hall has been found in village

Derbyshire Constabulary believe they have found the body of a teenager who was reported missing in the East Midlands.

Amy Hall, 17, went missing from her home in Hayfield, Derbyshire, on Thursday, September 9 at 1pm.

Police said yesterday they discovered a body in the area around the Peak District village of Birch Vale..

Formal identification is not underway yet but police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Amy's family have been informed.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "The body of what is believed to be missing teenager Amy Hall has been found in the Birch Vale area, near New Mills.

"Amy's family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.

Formal identification of the 17-year-old is yet to take place, officers are preparing a file for the coroner and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances."
