Groups have been banned from meeting in and around a Nottingham park in a bid to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.
Those who refuse to leave may face arrest
Nottinghamshire Police authorised a dispersal order in the Southglade area of Bulwell Forest and Top Valley area, this weekend (June 20-21).
The order means that local officers can ask a person to leave the area for up to 48 hours to prevent harassment, alarm, distress, crime or disorder.
Groups will not be allowed to congregate in the area from 4.55pm on Saturday (June 20) due to the police dispersal order for 48-hours.
The force has authorised the dispersal order to reduce antisocial behaviour in the area.
Police Sergeant Oliver Vale said: “We understand the concerns of residents in the Bulwell Forest and Top Valley area and want to reassure them that appropriate action is being taken to address those concerns.
"We are going to be increasing police presence in the area as part of a dispersal order, which will take effect today [Saturday].
"This order is a preventative tool that can be used to reduce the likelihood of crime or disorder happening in the area.”
The order will apply until Monday, June 22 2020 at 4.55pm.
