Police at scene after Mercedes appears to have crashed into two parked cars

Police are at the scene of a crash in Cheadle this morning after a Mercedes appears to have hit two parked cars.

The crash happened on Stockport Road earlier today.

Pictures taken at the scene this morning showed a badly smashed Mercedes car and two badly damaged parked cars.

The M.E.N understands that the Mercedes was abandoned with the driver fleeing the scene.

One local resident, the owner of one of the cars that had been left damaged, said: "I just heard the crash really and just woke up.

"When I came down this crashed car was there and the driver was gone.

"Neighbours said [the driver] just left, she tried to run away basically the car wouldn't start and she's just gone."

Multiple police cars were stationed on Stockport Road this morning.

The road is partially blocked between Cheadle Roscoes roundabout and Councillor Lane.

The exact details of the incident have not yet been confirmed.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said they were unable to comment at this stage.
