Police at Prospecthill Circus: Man arrested over 'weapons' incident in Glasgow south side

A man has been arrested following an incident which brought armed police to Glasgow’s south side.

Officers were called to reports of a ‘man with weapons’ in Prospecthill Circus, in the Toryglen area, on Wednesday (July 7).

A 33-year-old has now been arrested and charged.

Today, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Following reports of a man being seen in possession of two weapons in the Prospecthill Circus area of Glasgow on Wednesday, 7 July, Police Scotland can now confirm that a 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the matter.

“He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Friday).”

Inspector Crawford Inglis, of Cathcart Police Station, added: "I'd like to thank the community for their assistance with our investigation, following what was clearly a distressing situation."
