Police at house where toddler rushed to hospital with serious head injury

Police are still examining a family home this morning where a toddler was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury.

Neighbours said a woman in her early 20s lived at the property on Belsford Way with her young child.

Today the end terrace property remained cordoned off by police.

Speaking about the woman who lived at the house, one neighbour said: “She’s a lovely girl, always smiling.

“I’ve seen her taking the little boy to nursery.

“Police scientific services were here last night. It’s worrying not knowing what’s gone on.”

It is not known if anyone has been arrested.

Yesterday, a police spokesman said to the ECHO : "We can confirm that emergency services are in Speke following an incident this afternoon, Friday 12 July. 

"At 6pm, police were informed by the ambulance service of concerns for a boy who had been taken to hospital from an address in Belsford Way earlier in the afternoon having suffered a head injury. The boy is currently being assessed. 

"Officers remain on the scene carrying out enquiries and anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC or call 101 with reference number 803. "
