
Police are asking to hear from anyone who saw a woman walking on State Highway 1 near Bluff after 9pm yesterday.
A woman died after she was hit by a vehicle on State Highway 1 (Bluff Highway) near the intersection with Omaui Rd about 1am today.

Invercargill Police said anyone who saw the woman - wearing a blue jacket and pink shoes - on the road between 9pm yesterday and 1am today should contact them.
In addition to sightings of the woman, police are calling for sightings of anyone walking along the highway overnight between 9pm and 1am.
Crash scene investigators were at the scene for most of the day.
Road blocks were lifted this afternoon.Police believe they know the identity of the woman but her name would not be released until next of kin were informed.
St John ambulance confirmed it was called to the scene of the crash, but on arrival one person had died.
Inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.
