Missing person 48-year-old William Goodman sparks police appeal

Police are asking for help to find 48-year-old William Goodman.

Officers and William's family are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

He was last seen in the Northfield Road area of Donaghadee at around 12pm on Wednesday, September 8.

William is described as being 5ft 10in and of slim build with dark hair.

He also has blue eyes and multiple tattoos on his back, arms and hands.

When last seen, the 48-year-old was wearing a light-coloured, long-sleeved sweatshirt and dark-coloured trousers.

Anyone who may have any information about William’s whereabouts, which could assist police with their enquiries, is asked to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1002 09/09/21.

The appeal was made on the Police Ards & North Down Facebook page at 2.55am on Friday.

According to the Missing People charity, somebody is reported missing every 90 seconds in the UK, equating to a total of 170,000 people.

Of that number, almost 98,000 are adults and more than 70,000 are children.

The charity also states that 75 per cent of adults are found within the first 24 hours of being reported missing and 85 per cent are found within two days, while five per cent are not found in the first week.

For children, the respective figures are 80 per cent, 90 per cent and two per cent.
