Police ask cocaine user to 'get in touch' after drugs left behind at services

Police are asking the owner of a bag of cocaine found at a service station on the M6 to get in touch.

The class A drug was discovered at a petrol station at Sandbach Services in Cheshire, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "We’re hoping to reunite the owner of this lost property found at a petrol station at Sandbach M6 Southbound services.

"It seems a shame they should have parted with it.

"If you know any more information please get in touch with us.  Just kidding.  Seized and destroyed."

The find marks the latest stash of drugs found in unexpected locations in Staffordshire and Cheshire in recent days.

Last Saturday police in Cannock issued an appeal after drugs were found in a wallet that had been handed into them after being found near the Co-op in Hednesford.

And earlier this week police in Leek recovered cannabis from the glove box of a hire car.

Similarly bizarre incidents have also occurred in Wales over the years.

Back in March, an entire cannabis factory - including heat lamps, paraphernalia and the plants themselves - was found dumped on a Swansea hillside.

And in 2016 there were fears that 'sheep high on cannabis' could start rampaging through Craig Cefn Parc in the Swansea Valley after plants were dumped there and possibly eaten by a nearby flock.
