Police arrest two men following reports of knifepoint robbery on Leeds Liverpool Canal

Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man after reports of a knifepoint robbery on the Leeds Liverpool Canal this afternoon.

The force were contacted by a member of the public, who said that a man told him that he had been robbed by two people armed with knives near Bramley Fall Woods.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested two men nearby.

An appeal has been launched, asking people who may have information about the two suspects to come forward. It is alleged that the incident took place between 1:45pm and 2:15pm.

Detective Sergeant Khan, of Leeds CID, said: "Although no victim has come forward yet, we are appealing to trace the man involved who alerted the member of the public.

"There is no suggestion anyone was injured in this incident, and our enquiries remain ongoing in the area and to determine if a robbery took place.
