Police arrest third teenager on suspicion of assault after boy, 14 was stabbed in Gorseinon

A third boy, aged 14, has been arrested following an incident in the Gorseinon area of Swansea.

Officers were alerted to reports of a 14-year-old having received injuries at around 6.05pm on Thursday, February 10, at Gorseinon Bus Station on West Street.

The boy had suffered stab wounds for which he is receiving treatment at the University Hospital of Wales. Police said he was in a stable condition.

Police and forensic officers have remained at the scene on Friday, February 11, and a cordon is in place.

Two other boys, aged 14 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of assault on Thursday evening.

All three remain in police custody.

Officers continue to ask for any witnesses or those who have information regarding those involved to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Raikes said: “Following the incident at Gorseinon Bus Station yesterday evening a third 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault. All three boys remain in police custody.

“The 14-year-old boy who suffered stab wounds remains in University Hospital of Wales where he is being treated for his injuries. He is in a stable condition.

"Officers are trying to trace anybody else who was in the area at the time, and may have witnessed the assault, or has information regarding those involved. They are especially keen to hear from those that may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area between 5.45pm and 6.15pm yesterday evening, Thursday 10 th February.

"Anyone with information is urged to contact South Wales Police by one of the means below quoting reference number 2200047710."
