A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of riotous behaviour amid ongoing trouble in North Belfast .
Police said the teenager was taken into custody near Girdwood Community Centre following a chase on foot.
Officers were called to reports of anti social behaviour in the area around 6.40pm on Monday.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "D Section have been out and about again this evening answering calls and responding to ongoing incidents. At approximately 1840 we responded to reports of anti-social behaviour in the area of Girdwood community centre.
"The newest members of our section, Constables M and E, responded and after giving chase to a large number of young people who were throwing stones; arrested a 16-year-old for riotous behaviour.
"This area has recently been a hot spot for this type of behaviour and we want to reassure the local community that we take this issue seriously and will be dealing robustly with any offenders.
"Parents - we can't solve this problem all on our own, please make sure your children are not involved in this behaviour!"
