More than 20 people have been arrested after a police operation targeting criminal activity in key suburbs along the Sydney to Newcastle train line.
Police carried out a three-day operation from Thursday July 30 to Saturday August 1 in Newcastle, Hamilton, Gosford, Hornsby and Sydney.
About 2.25pm on Friday July 31 police responded to reports of brawl near Mann Street, Gosford.
Officers then spoke with and searched a 45-year-old man where they allegedly seized a knife and a large torch.
The man was issued a court attendance notice for possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and have custody of an offensive implement in a public place.
He will appear before Gosford Local Court on Thursday August 27.
Police Transport Command established Operation Disrupt to prevent and disrupt criminal activity in key areas of the public transport network.
From Thursday to Saturday, 24 people were arrested and charged with a total of 27 offences and eight knives and one offensive implement were seized.
More than 260 people were scanned during four knife scanning declarations, 12 drug detections were made and six breaches of bail were detected.
Police said Operation Disrupt would continue.
