Police arrest man carrying knife after late night 'disturbance' in Bolton

A man has been arrested after he was found by police holding a knife and standing in front of a smashed window late last night.

The 34-year-old was discovered after officers were called to a 'disturbance' in Tarbet Drive, Breightmet, Bolton, at around 11.20pm.

When they arrived, they found the window of one of the homes had been broken.

In a post on GMP's Bolton North Facebook page, an officer said: "When police arrived at the scene, a male was seen on the street holding a knife, outside of a house where a window had been smashed.

"The male, 34 years old, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of the knife.

"He remains in police custody for questioning."
