Police arrest man after reports of firearm in Dennistoun

A man has been charged with being in possession of a firearm in the east end of Glasgow.

The 28-year-old was arrested after police were called to reports of a person with a firearm in the Alexandra Parade area in Dennistoun at about 8.35pm on Saturday February 23.

Officers recovered a weapon, and nobody was hurt, reports the Daily Record.

A  Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police have arrested and charged a 28-year-old man after officers were called to the Alexandra Parade area at about 8.35pm on Saturday February 23 following a report of a man with a firearm.

“A weapon was recovered and no-one was injured as a result of the incident.

“The man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.”
